The German government does not intend to supply Ukraine with the BMP “Marder” as part of military assistance.
This is written by the German publication Bild.
According to the publication, Germany does not plan to transfer to Ukraine even old infantry fighting vehicles that need repair and are not currently in service with the German army. Today, the Bundeswehr has 32 units of these machines.
It should be noted that their repair would last up to 12 months, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine would most likely receive them before the end of 2022 if the repair process began on March 3.

“Mere numbers show that it is not a question of technology, but of political will. Therefore, we cannot put our ‘Marder’ Ukraine”, – said an official from the German Ministry of Defense in a comment to Bild.
It should be noted that previously the German Ministry of Defense had stated that it had no additional Marder infantry fighting vehicles; in order to deliver them to Ukraine. But later it turned out that the Bundeswehr had 62 Mader infantry fighting vehicles, which are no longer in use. 32 units of the respective vehicles need to be repaired.
